Between Woolf and Dog – polaroids 2019 The images express my vision of the merging of two worlds that seem to be chasing one another, yet neither ever catches up to the other. Beneath this everyday appearance lies a dance, sometimes simpler, like a lesson at dance school (Series II), other times composed of a complex series of movements (Series II). The dance of white with black, or vice versa. White (day) can dominate, seemingly paradoxically transforming into black (night) by concealing details just as effectively as darkness (see also Gábor Bódy’s famous “cut into light”). And conversely, black can break white’s dominance, transforming into white (day), revealing intricate details in a surprising way. At the points of encounter, which sometimes seem impossible, like those of parallels meeting at infinity, glitches appear, which in fact denote the erotic dimension of the dance between the two “colors,” entities, creatures, worlds.
